The Georgia Athletic Officials Association, INC. (GAOA), is a registered 501-C-3 Not-For-Profit Organization. Expenses incurred in support of or participation in GAOA’s activities and events are tax deductible.
GAOA’s mission is to organize the state’s athletic officials’ organizations into a cohesive statewide association that encourages excellence in all sports; that fosters fair play, sportsmanship, and integrity; and that provides services and support for officials. Our objectives are:
Promoting Excellence in Officiating
Advocating for Officials
Amplifying Officials’ Voices
Let me be clear: The GAOA does NOT set GHSA policies governing officials or on any-other matters. However, the GAOA does work tirelessly to influence GHSA’s decision makers on behalf of officials, but only when officials give GAOA their unified concerns on matters of interest to them. Such as: 2009 black football pants authorized, 2014 established simplified E-Verification process, 2017 pay raise, etc.
GAOA’s Leadership and I encourage you and your association’s members to be heard on matters of interest to you at OGAD’s sport-specific breakout sessions July 13 at Campbell High School, 5265 Ward St., Smyrna, GA 30080. Registration opens at 7:30 am and opening ceremonies begin promptly at 9:00 am July 13 at Campbell High School. We are looking forward to seeing you.
