Pay Raise Unanimously Approved for GHSA Soccer Officials
The GHSA State Executive Committee meeting that took place on October 5, 2020 produced a positive outcome for soccer officials working in a crew of 3. The vote to increase soccer crew of 3 pay from $60 per official to $70 per official passed unanimously. This allows the difference between a crew of 2 versus a crew of 3 pay to be more in line with other sports, according to GHSA.
GAOA continues to support that all officials should be paid the same regardless of the number of officials on the field. There is little rationale to support the model that three officials on the field should individually get paid less than two officials on the field. GAOA will continue to promote that idea as meetings develop with the various officials' committees throughout the state. Let us know what you think - The Voice.
